Supplier Relationship Manager
SSRM (Strategic Supplier Relationship Management) is defined as “the practices and behaviours adopted to engage more collaboratively with strategic suppliers to improve delivery of Government objectives and increase mutual value beyond that originally contracted”
Over the last three years HMRC Commercial Directorate have been updating the Supplier Relationship Management approach rolling out the best practice approach advocated by the Cabinet Office.
SSRM has been effective at resetting relationships, and expectations with our key suppliers. It has driven additional value and facilitated appropriate conversations at the right levels.
The SRM Lead is key to successful delivery, as they are responsible for coordinating the activities, and ensuring the governance process is followed. They provide support, and guidance to Business Owners.
*The broad purpose of the role is to manage the relationship with a strategic supplier(s) for HMRC, as part of the wider SSRM Programme.
*The aim of the programme is to improve the way the HMRC works with strategic suppliers in such a way as to improve performance, improve the relationship, reduce risk and create value beyond that which was originally contracted.
*During the set-up phase of the supplier relationship you will be supported by the SSRM Programme Lead.
*The programme requires that each strategic supplier will be assigned an Accountable Relationship Owner with whom you will work closely. You will be expected not only to manage the relationship with a strategic supplier(s), but also to contribute to the success of the wider SSRM Programme.
