Location
Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield or London. Some travel may be required to Various Corporate UK Hubs and there may be occasional overnight stay in Business as Usual times. travel to various locations.

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for leading and delivering the operational aspects of commercial strategy and Category Management within the department’s Estates category Programme/Project management team. The category is made up of four sub categories: Facilities Management and Utilities, Security, Programme / Project Management, and Lease and Landlord Management, Estates Integrator and other ancillary services. In addition, you will play a key role in delivering commercial solutions that address category, commercial and broader DWP objectives. The category’s contracts cover some £3Bn of spend per annum.

The team will be re-procuring its entire portfolio of contracts within the next three years.

The successful candidate would therefore be either be:
a) working within a large procurement team;
b) managing smaller procurements on an end-to-end basis or
c) responsible for contract management and change procedures.

This opportunity provides in-depth insight into the broad range of operational Estates services in a complex and changing environment.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop deep Estates Category Management expertise, increasing their level of commerciality, operational execution and stakeholder and supplier engagement across the organisation.

As a highly visible Commercial Lead, they each will lead a small team delivering a range of services as part of the complex Construction Fit Out and Refurbishment Framework (new procurement underway), Professional Services integration with new Estates Target Operating Model (ETOM) and DWP National Furniture Requirements (new procurement underway). You will form robust and trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels across your sub category area, working collaboratively to solve complex problems and achieve the best outcomes. You will play a critical role in this complex category that will involve leading dialogue with major suppliers.
