The role of the Commercial Contract Manager is to provide contract management and commercial support to ensure that contract / subcontract compliance is maintained to the department, its ALBs and to the wider NHS.  The post holder will have a key role working closely with strategic suppliers to the government and the NHS to drive value for patients and service users.

The role requires strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including colleagues across the department and its ALBs and leaders across the civil service and wider health and care system.

This role will require the contract management of one or more high priority contracts and the implementation of processes to ensure contract compliance and high-quality service delivery. It is likely that some line management or ability to work in a virtual team will be a part of this role.

At a high level the role will involve:

Managing contracts throughout creation, delivery and closure, with a focus on governance and compliance, whilst maximising operational and financial performance and risk mitigation;

Developing CCM Capability across the group through the CCMC Network Events, CCMC Workshops

Creating and providing access to leading practice CM Tools, guidance, advice and expertise to colleagues in DHSC and the Arm’s Length Bodies;

Supporting procurement colleagues in high value / risk procurement to ensure CM is built into contracts; and/or in similar markets – acting as a facilitator and conduit with the Cabinet Office
