We offer more.
A rich and varied working life. Career-defining projects. Exceptional training and development opportunities – and a sector-leading benefits package.
As an employee of the Government Commercial Organisation (GCO), which sits within the Government Commercial Function (GCF), you will have access to a unique benefits package that is reflective of the sector-leading work that we are doing.
We’re a forward-thinking business. So we know that our people achieve their best results when they are fulfilled in their workplace. So to attract the very best commercial talent, we have stepped away from traditional civil service benefits. Base salaries range from £60,000 to £190,000. Plus we offer performance-related bonuses of up to 20% and pension entitlement. You will receive 25 days of annual leave (with the option to purchase additional days), all public holidays and an extra day for the Queen’s birthday. We look after our people in the most challenging circumstances too, with death in service payments and ill health benefit – providing you with peace of mind that your family will be supported no matter what.
Lifestyle-friendly hours are the norm here. With flexible working options including part-time hours, job shares and compressed hours, you’re sure to find the ideal balance. Depending on your role, you can also work from home and adopt flexible start and end times.

Catering to every need, our programmes are designed to support your professional development, define your commercial leadership skills and business acumen and enhance commercial judgement. We know that one approach doesn’t suit everyone, so pick and choose from one-to-one learning with a Coach, hands-on learning, private studies via e-learning or group workshop studies.
At the heart of our bold approach is our online learning portal ‘The Government Commercial College’. Regularly updated with bespoke courses, the content is shaped around intelligence from our Assessment and Development Centre (ADC) highlighting the evolving needs of our senior commercial staff.

Through professional membership designation and the use of post-nominal letters (MCIPS), those who achieve MCIPS Chartered Status can further evidence and maintain their capability and commercial credibility. Individuals will be part of the world’s largest, global professional body, uphold professional standards and codes, and will be assessed and accredited against a set of internationally recognised standards.
